On the top
of Pitimalikou, there is the shelter of the Greek Federation of Mountaineering
that was restored recently in order to accommodate 80 individuals and the
shelter of Hiking Club of Athens that can host 16 individuals. Both of
them contribute to the tourist growth of Vardousia. About 1,000 climbers visit
every summer the mountain and the same number of people go to the mountain in
the winter in order to experience the adventure of climbing the frozen slopes.
