Mavrolithari : Capital of the Municipality of Kallieis, with 250 inhabitants, a historic village, and native land of "armatolos" Vlacharmatas. The village was burned during the German occupation. It is built at an altitude of 1,140m between Vardoussia, Giona and Oiti and gathers many tourists during the summer time. It has the biggest square of the region, covered all around by plane trees, as well as the rent rooms Pantheon. The municipality of Kallieis is formed by: Athanasios Diakos (Ano Moussounitsa), a village with many visitors all around the year, is situated at the foot of the north side of Vardoussia mountains at an altitude of 1,100m, in a landscape of superb beauty surrounded by a dense forest of fir trees, cedars, plane trees, oaks, chestnuts, rare wild flowers, wild forest animals, wild ravines and springs, that all together form a biotope of exquisite beauty. The statue of Athanasios Diakos dominates the village square. The village has taverns, hostels and rooms for rent. Above are Vardoussia mountains with the climbing refuge.
Athanasios Diakos and Artotina argue on the issue of the native village of the 1821 hero Athanasios Diakos, each village providing its own documentation. Moussounitsa (Kato Moussounitsa): A small village, built on mountainside full of fir trees at an altitude of 900m. It has springs and a magnificent view to Giona mountain and Mornos river. Kastriotissa : A small village built at an altitude of 1,260m (the highest altitude among all Parnassida villages). It owes its name to the ancient castle of the district, the ruins of which lye to the S.W. of the village with huge blocks of stone dating since the time of Ophioneis Aetolians who inhabited the area. It has a significant folklore collection. Panourgias (Dremissa): A picturesque small village, built on the full of fir trees slope of Giona (Xirovouni), at an altitude of 1,080m and with a wonderful view to Giona, Vardoussia and Oiti, native area of many important fighters of the 1821 struggle (Panourgias and Nakoe Panourgias, Gianni Gkouras, Mamouris and priest Kostas Tzamalas). It was named after the son of hero Panourgias, Nakos, chieftain during 1821, who served under Ioannis Kapodistrias, as a major general under Othon and as a member of the Parliament until his death
The Greek National Tourism Organisation (E.O.T.) constructs a traditional complex of rooms , which shall be completed within the year 2001. Pira (Gouritsa): A small village built on the slopes of Oiti at an altitude of 1,150m. It owes its name to the ancient site (3klm out of the village) of the mesa, where the Father of Philoktetes lighted a "Fire" (Pira in Greek means fire) to burn Hercules and to put an end to his horrible suffering, subject to Pythia's advice. Because he had wore the poisoned chiton of Centaur Nessos given to him by his wife Dianeira out of fear that Hercules would love beautiful Iole, daughter of Evritus, king of Ochalia. There are still ruins from the place called "Hercules Fire". S t r o m i : a small old village, built on a full of fir trees slope, at the foot of Giona and on the river "Vourloremma" (side-river of Mornos).
