lt is an
old church built before the 16th century, since it is reported by sightseer I.
Spon, who visited Galaxidi in 1677. It has many old icons, especially in
the icons screen they are made of wood of walnut tree, from the year 1847. In the floor of the Temple
the zodiac- heliotrope is craved by captain and mystic of the astronomy Ilias
Skourtis in 1911. It is a solar timetable. Each midday at 12 o'clock a ray of
light enters the Temple from a round hole of the roof and falls in the
corresponding calendar dot of the heliotrope. In the exterior side of the main
entrance there is the solar clock. The zodiac, the solar timetable, the solar
clock and the drawing that explains all the above are works of high conformity
and art of scientific and tourist interest.
